The 15 Biggest Baby Boomer Brands? Maybe in the USA.
March 2, 2010 | By Kim Walker
An article from Ad Age listing one mans view of the 15 bigggest brands among baby boomers (in the USA).
I’ve listend them below and highlighted the one’s I think might have made it in an Asian context (not many!)
- Levis
- Harley Davidson
- Volkswagen
- Slinky (walking spring toy)
- Noxzema (skin cleanser)
- The Beatles
- L’Eggs (stockings)
- Pepsi
- Absolut Vodka
- Saturday Night Live
- Frye (boots)
- Coach (bags)
- Club Med
- Clairol (hair colour)
If brands define boomers, then this is clear evidence that the boomer generation in Asia is quite different to our USA counterparts. As each Asian country has it’s own unique consumer culture, you’d need a separate list for each country! Globalization of brands is, however, homogenizing our consumption.
A couple of global brands i would have added that would be appropriate in this region? Coke, MTV, Microsoft. How’s that for starters!?
Vive la difference!
